I am a robotics and AI researcher with a background in mechanical and mechatronics engineering.
I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), within the InBot research environment in Genoa. My work combines robot control, reinforcement learning, computer vision and the integration of physical systems.
I completed an International PhD in Robotics and Intelligent Machines after working as a reliability engineer. Across these experiences, I have worked with industrial and collaborative robots, continuum manipulators, rehabilitation robots, visual sensing and learning-based control.
Areas of focus
- Robot learning and reinforcement learning
- Operational-space and adaptive control
- Computer vision and human motion understanding
- Collaborative, social and rehabilitation robotics
- Continuum robots and physical AI
How I work
I enjoy the point where models, software and hardware have to agree with one another. My goal is to develop robotic systems that are intelligent without losing physical grounding: systems whose behaviour can be understood, tested and improved in the real world.
